Our Choirs
Treble Chorus
Treble Chorus serves singers in grades 2–5 and emphasizes learning to read and interpret music through two-part singing, vocal technique, and music literacy, including solfège training and singing in multiple languages. Rehearsals blend focused skill-building with creative movement and interactive music games, helping singers gain confidence and ensemble awareness. Treble Chorus members perform regularly throughout the year, showcasing their growing artistry in concerts and community events, while building a strong sense of teamwork and commitment to choral excellence.
Treble Chorus rehearses on Tuesdays, 4:30-5:45pm.
New Voices
A subset of Treble Chorus, New Voices is our introductory choral ensemble, designed to spark a lifelong love of music through joyful, engaging, and developmentally appropriate instruction. This beginning choir introduces young singers to the fundamentals of healthy vocal technique, unison and simple two-part singing, steady beat, and basic music reading. Through a curriculum rich in movement, games, and songs from around the world, singers develop musical skills in a playful, nurturing environment that supports individual growth and ensemble awareness. New Voices performs approximately four times yearly, giving children their first exciting taste of sharing music with an audience and being part of a larger artistic community.
New Voices rehearses on Tuesdays, 4:30-5:45pm.
Concert Choir
Concert Choir is Georgia Children’s Chorus’s mixed voice ensemble for singers in grades 6–12 who are eager to grow as musicians and performers. Designed for singers with developing music literacy and strong rehearsal skills, Concert Choir focuses on proper vocal technique, expressive singing, and advanced part-singing in unison, 2-, 3-, and 4-part repertoire. Members of this ensemble are passionate about singing, excited to take on musical challenges, and committed to collaboration and excellence. With an average of 5-6 performances annually, Concert Choir singers deepen their artistry and confidence while building meaningful connections through shared musical experiences.
Concert Choir rehearses on Tuesdays, 6:00-7:30pm.
Lyric Ensemble
Lyric Ensemble is an auditioned, advanced treble choir for singers in grades 9–12 eager to perform challenging and innovative repertoire within a joyful and empowering community. Singers in Lyric also sing in Concert Choir, with Lyric Ensemble offering an advanced treble experience within the choir. Designed for committed singers with strong performance skills, this upper-level ensemble focuses on expressive singing, a cappella work, and new works for treble voices. Lyric Ensemble performs independently and with other GCC ensembles, fostering musical excellence, personal growth, and meaningful collaboration.
Lyric Ensemble rehearses on Tuesdays, 7:45-8:15pm.
Low Key Collective
Low Key Collective is a new Georgia Children’s Chorus initiative that offers high-quality choral training and performance opportunities for middle and high school singers with low voices (tenor, baritone, and bass). Addressing a critical gap in Northeast Georgia’s youth choral landscape, this ensemble provides a space where singers can strengthen their musical skills, explore repertoire written for their vocal range, and grow in confidence and leadership. As both a training chorus and performance ensemble, Low Key Collective supports vocal development, music literacy, and peer mentorship, ensuring continuity for singers as their voices change. Rehearsing weekly at the Hugh Hodgson School of Music and performing in major GCC concerts and community events, Low Key Collective celebrates the unique contribution of low voices.
Low Key Collective rehearses on Tuesdays, 6:00 -7:30 pm.
